Polegate & Willingdon County Councillor Roy Martin has asked Norman Baker MP to join with him in pressing the County Council for urgent road repairs in Farmlands Avenue, Polegate.

Roy says: "We have been asking for repairs here for some years to no avail. This road was not built to take the heavy traffic and it is not surprising it is breaking up. As the County Councillor I have been raising this matter continually and this road is in a worse state than Coppice Avenue, parts of which were recently repaired."

District Councillor Andy Watkins adds: "I have great sympathy for the local residents who have to put up with the vibration to their bungalows. You can actually see the road slab moving in one place."

Local MP Norman Baker added his support to the campaign saying: “Once again the Tory County Council has shown little interest in serving the needs of local people in Polegate. Is this the worst maintained road in East Sussex?! I will be supporting my Lib Dem colleagues in their fight to get the Tories to do something about the condition of Farmlands Avenue.”
