Lib Dems in Seaford are delighted with news that the District Council is soon to open a new state-of-the-art all-weather football pitch at Seaford Downs Leisure Centre on Sutton Road.

Lewes District Council has worked in close partnership with Wave Leisure to provide this outstanding new facility for local people. It is anticipated that the new facility will expand hours and opportunity for sport development.

Lead councillor for Communities, Liz Lee, says of the development: "This is a very exciting expansion of the District Council's commitment to providing high quality leisure facilities for local people.

"The facility will cater for over 200 children on Saturday mornings alone, and has been welcomed by the Regional Development Manager of the Football Association. It will also see Premier League soccer schools treble and potentially bring a School of Excellence to Seaford.

"The pitch will be used extensively by local clubs including Seaford FC, Seahaven Harriers, and Brighton & Hove Albion. Both Lewes District Council and our partners at Wave Leisure are delighted to aid the development of local clubs and encourage participation in our most popular national sport."
