Local Lib Dem councillor Carla Butler has won her battle to get improvements for residents in Gibbon Road, Newhaven.

Local people had been very unhappy at the state of fencing in area which was in a very poor state. Carla has been working hard with the District Council to get a major repair and upgrade undertaken.

"The old wooden fencing was literally falling apart. There were large gaps where bits had fallen out and it really brought down the general appearance of the area." says Carla.

"I contacted the District Council and they have done a great job. I am really pleased that local people now have an area that they can be proud of, and that brings something positive to the local community."
