Bus boost for Lewes1.08.02pm UTC (GMT +0000) Fri 27th Jul 2007
Lewes councillor, James MacCleary, has welcomed news that Brighton and Hove Buses will soon be running new services in the Malling area of Lewes. Councillor MacCleary approached the bus company to seek improvements to existing bus services after residents raised the issue. From September 23rd the 28/28A/28B/28C services will now run via Malling Brooks providing extra services for local people. "I have been working with Brighton & Hove Buses to get progress on bus routes in Malling. These changes will allow Malling residents direct access to Brighton, Hailsham and Uckfield without having to come into Lewes town centre." says James. "I am also pressing the County Council to provide better bus shelters in Lewes as the current situation is terrible. I'm delighted with the progress that's been made and will continue to work hard to get better transport for local people."
