Local Lib Dem councillors Roy Martin and Andy Watkins exposed secret discussions over the future of Hindsland playing fields.

Local Lib Dems have expressed concern over the new housing developments planned for Polegate.

Polegate councillor Andy Watkins says: "I will oppose the new housing unless our green spaces are kept, and significant improvements are made to our infrastructure."

Local councillor Roy Martin says: "Any extra housing must come with improved infrastructure for Polegate - particularly to our roads and public transport, and to health and elderly people's services."

Local campaigner Chris Berry says: "Residents are telling us that any new housing plans must be met with genuine consultation. This did not happen last time."

The last consultation on housing in Polegate became controversial after 'Independent' councillors produced a leaflet that led many local people to believe that 10,000 new homes would be built in Polegate, when the figure is likely to be less than half this.
