Local Lib Dems are demanding that the County Council takes action to repair our roads.

Local Liberal Democrat Cllr Andy Watkins has described the state of the roads and pavements in Polegate and Willingdon as scandalous and has demanded action from the county council.

Andy says: "All over this area residents are telling me about roads breaking up, kerbstones missing, rutted grass verges and uneven pavements. It is not that most of these defects are unreported - they are and many by me. Very often reassurances are given about repairs but then it often doesn't happen."

Andy adds: "These potholes are going to become a bigger problem unless the County deals with them now. It is common sense to deal with it before it becomes a much bigger and more expensive job. The state of Farmlands Avenue and Coppice Avenue is a disgrace."

County Councillor Roy Martin said "It has become increasingly difficult to get repairs done when they are needed and preventative maintenance seems virtually non-existent. I am fed up and continually bang the drum for residents who have every right to be complaining. I will be asking questions again at the next Council meeting."
