Commuters from Lewes, Newhaven, Seaford, Polegate and all of our surrounding villages are faced yet again with an above-inflation fare rise.
“These constant fare increases are a burden on commuters, who may not even receive a pay rise this year. Given that most people will not be returning to their offices five days a week, it seems wrong that people will be paying more for their ticket and using the train on fewer occasions,” said Cllr Kate Wood. “The Liberal Democrats are campaigning to stop the rail fare rise and to ask Southern Rail to bring in flexible season tickets for commuters. It is only fair that they adapt in light of the new normal.”
Please sign our petition now and tell Southern Rail that you oppose price increases and that you demand flexible season tickets.
