Universal Basic Income - fantasy economics, or an idea whose time has come?

Last year the Lib Dems committed to campaign for a universal basic income, and set up a policy working party to set out the policy in detail.

Proposals have been published and a consultation on them is open to 7th June. To help local members understand the proposals, and to encourage responses to the consultation, we are holding a meeting for members and friends on Zoom on Friday June 4th at 8 pm.

This is a great opportunity for us, because the chair of the working party, Paul Noblet, has agreed to join us to present the proposals and to answer questions.

The event is free, but we would like to ask those who can afford it to donate £5 to cover our costs. Entry details for the meeting will be sent by email to all who sign up.

The consultation paper is available here.

And the consultation survey is here
