Councillors Paul Mellor (District) and Sarah Osborne (County) recently met with local cyclists in Ditchling to support the SWARM that cycled from Ditchling to Hassocks. Sarah Osborne spoke at the meeting as the local Lib Dem County Councillor.

Paul Mellor added: ‛ This is a great idea organised by Ditchling CAN (Climate Action Network). The idea is to urge East Sussex County Council to be more supportive of safe cycling".

Paul and Sarah are supporting a petition from a local resident who wants to see the footpath from Ditchling to Keymer repaired and upgraded to make a safe shared-use path for cyclists, walkers and wheelchair users. It can be found at https://you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/improve-safety-on-the-keymer-straight-now.  A quote from the petiton: "Frankie nearly got wiped out on his bike on this stretch of road. Please help us convince the local authority that improvements to pedestrian and cyclist safety should be a priority!"
