Liberal Democrats on Lewes District Council have hit out at the government's decision to consider a further delay to county council elections, warning that democracy in Sussex is being "kicked into the long grass."
"First, the May 2025 county elections were delayed with the promise of a new Mayor. Then, government cancelled Mayoral elections. Now, they are inviting the Sussex Tories to help them finish the job by 'requesting' a further delay to county elections."
